DAR ES SALAAM, Sept. 12 -- THE long wait is over as multitudes of Young Africans members and fans throng Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam today, September 12th, 2025, to climax a sixth Mwananchi Day celebrations in style.

It is a historic day for the oldest club in Tanzania to observe ahead of the commencement of the eventful 2025-26 season that will see them competing in domestic competitions as well as the CAF Champions League (CAF CL).

Yanga kicked off their annual Mwananchi Day commemorations in 2020 when they defeated Aigle Noir of Burundi 2-0, and in 2021, they succumbed to a 2-1 defeat from Zambias ZANACO.
