Dar es Salaam, Feb. 28 -- MWANZA: DEFENDING champions have widened a gap with their closest pursuers, Simba to 7 points following their 3-0 victory against Pamba Jiji at CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza this evening.

The defending champions continue to lead the league race with 58 points from 22 games.

Before their todays encounter with Pamba Young Africans were commanding the helm with 55 points, 4 points superior to their traditional rivals who are glued at the second position with 51 points from their 20-game outing.

Shadrack Boka scored the opener in the 28th minute through a free kick to give Yanga a slim 1-0 lead at the end of the first half.
