DAR ES SALAAM, July 23 -- WOMEN across the country have been urged to embrace VICOBA community-based savings and loan groups as a proven way to boost economic resilience and social cohesion.

The call comes from Mama na Mwana Care- a grassroots initiative leading efforts to transform womens lives through financial empowerment.

Mama na Mwana Care Executive Director, Ms Jiang Alipo, said the organisation has established 15 VICOBA groups with over 300 active members experiencing improved financial stability and stronger social networks.

“We encourage women to take the first step and join a group. Here, they dont just save and borrow they build families, form strong bonds and support one another,” Ms Alipo said.
