DAR ES SALAAM, June 27 -- YOUTHS are recognised globally as key drivers of socio-economic and political progress. However, they still face significant challenges like in Tanzania, especially young mothers who struggle to find their places in the job market and contribute meaningfully to national development.

Here, the revised National Youth Development Policy (2024), originally established in 2007, emphasises the governments commitment to creating an environment that empowers young people to actively engage in building a strong economy and promoting sustainable development.

According to the 2021 Labour Force Survey, Tanzanias workforce numbered approximately 25.86 million people.
