DAR ES SALAAM, Dec. 11 -- TANZANIA Ports Authority (TPA) Director General Engineer Deusdedit Kakoko says the authority has recorded considerable achievements over the past four years, asking Tanzanians to walk tall, though much remains to be done to reap more benefits from the maritime economy.

Briefing reporters here on TPA's performance over the past four years and its future plans, Eng Kakoko said the achievements can be assessed by looking into several criteria.

These, he said, include the amount of cargo handled compared with the consignments handled by other competitors in the region or the number and size of ships handled within a particular period.
