ZANZIBAR, Nov. 20 -- Mr Nadir Abdul-latif Alwardy, the new Minister for Water, Energy and Minerals, has vowed to take strict action against any staff involved in theft, corruption or misconduct within the ministry.

Mr Nadir issued the warning shortly after formally taking office from the outgoing Minister, Mr Shaib Hassan Kaduara, during a ceremony held at the Zanzibar Utilities Regulatory Authority (ZURA) in the Dr Ali Mohamed Shein Hall at Maisara.

He urged all ministry officials to uphold good governance, safeguard public resources and ensure full accountability.

“Anyone found engaging in theft or misconduct will face legal action. I will not allow anyone to sabotage the ministrys performance,” he said.
