DODOMA, July 17 -- TANZANIA has significant potential to attain upper-middle-income status by the year 2050, provided that citizens increase their efforts and productivity in economic activities, the Minister of State in the Presidents Office – Planning and Investment, Professor Kitila Mkumbo stated.

Speaking today, July 17, 2025, during the official launch of the National Development Vision 2050 held at the Jakaya Kikwete Convention Centre (JKCC) in Dodoma, Prof. Kitila explained that the Vision aims to raise the countrys average income per person to USD 7,000 per year, which is equivalent to an average of 50,000/- per day.
