DAR ES SALAAM, Nov. 1 -- UN Women Tanzania has launched five-day seminars for women living with HIV/ AIDS in four Lake Zone regions- Mwanza, Shinyanga, Kagera and Geita.

Speaking during the seminar launch, UN Women Tanzania Project Officer, Jacob Kayombo said 50 women are expected to benefit from the training.

Mr Kayombo said the aim of the seminar is to strengthen the capacity of networks of women living with HIV on issues relating to harm practices and barriers, which affect their ability to protection against new HIV infection, access to HIV testing, treatment and care.

He further added they have conducted the seminar in Lake Zone regions because women living with HIV/AIDS are badly treated due to the culture of Lake Zone tribes.
