Dar es Salaam, April 8 -- DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA has urged member states of the United Nations (UN) to continue condemning persistent hate speeches and all forms of discrimination that could lead to the recurrence of genocide in any country.
The Minister for Constitution and Legal Affairs, Dr Damas Ndumbaro, made the call yesterday during the commemoration of the 31st Anniversary of the Rwanda Genocide in Dar es Salaam.
He reminded attendees that the genocide in Rwanda, which claimed around one million Tutsi lives, was incited by ill-intentioned rhetoric, including through mainstream media.
