DAR ES SALAAM, July 23 -- THE bilateral trade volume between Tanzania and the United States (US) has more than doubled over the past four years, reflecting ongoing efforts to strengthen economic relations between the two nations.

The trade volume soared to 778.1 million US dollars (more than 2.01tri/-) between 2021 and 2024 from 380.2 million US dollars (987bn/-), a remarkable 104.7 per cent increase.

Tanzanias Ambassador to the United States, Elsie Kanza said the surge is attributed to several key initiatives, including the establishment of the Tanzania American Chamber of Commerce (TACC) in 2023.
