Dar es Salaam, March 10 -- DAR ES SALAAM: THE Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC) has completed testing 264 Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) freight wagons, marking a significant step towards the commencement of freight transport on the modern railway.

According to TRC, the wagons arrived in the country in December 2024, and their testing was conducted under the Land Transport Regulatory Authority (LATRA) supervision. The process involved stability assessments both in stationary and moving conditions to ensure that all essential systems, including braking on curves, function properly.
