DAR ES SALAAM, Dec. 5 -- TANZANIA Ports Authority (TPA) has won the excellence award in preparing high-quality financial statements, according to the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

The awards were issued by the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) for the 2023/2024 financial year on Thursday evening in Dar es Salaam.

TPA ranked first in the category of Public Institutions, followed by the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) and the Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO), taking third place.
