DAR ES SALAAM, Dec. 29 -- The Acting Director General of the Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA), Dr Ladislaus Changa, has said that weather forecasts issued by the authority have an accuracy rate of 88 percent, meaning the likelihood of the predicted weather occurring is significantly higher than not occurring.

Dr Changa made the remarks today, December 29, 2025, in Dar es Salaam during a special interview with the national television station, TBC1.

He explained that the high level of accuracy is a result of substantial investments by TMA in modern weather monitoring and forecasting infrastructure, as well as the availability of highly skilled and experienced professionals in the field.
