DAR ES SALAAM, Dec. 2 -- THE Tanzanian President, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, has stated that the unrest that began on October 29, 2025, and continued thereafter was not ordinary but was carefully planned and executed with the major objective of attempting to overthrow the government.

Speaking today, December 2, 2025, to the Elders of Dar es Salaam Region at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC), President Samia said the unrest was part of “a broad project with malicious intent,” involving people from various groups some fully aware of the mission, others unaware, some following the crowd, and others who received money without understanding the purpose behind what they were instructed to do.
