DAR ES SALAAM, Dec. 15 -- THE Resident Magistrates Court at Kisutu in Dar es Salaam is today, Monday, December 15, 2025, hearing a bail application filed by former minister Geofrey Mwambe, who is currently being held by the Police.

Mwambe, who has previously held several senior government positions including Director of the Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC), Member of Parliament for Masasi in Mtwara Region under the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), Minister of State in the Prime Ministers Office (Investment), and Minister for Industry and Trade, has been in custody at the Dar es Salaam Special Police Zone since December 7, 2025.
