MOROGORO, Feb. 24 -- THE Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority (TAWA) has commended the sixth phase government for approving the recruitment of about 551 wildlife rangers for the 2025/26 financial year.
Acting Commissioner for Conservation, Mr Mlage Kabange said over the weekend during a two-day visit by members of the authoritys fourth Board of Directors at TAWA headquarters in Morogoro.
The board, chaired by retired Major General Hamis Semfuko also presided over a ceremony in which 13 Conservation Commissioners were conferred with military ranks at the authoritys headquarters in Morogoro Region.
The newly recruited rangers are expected to strengthen the protection and management of wildlife resources across the country.
