COAST REGION, Feb. 24 -- RUFIJI Town Council in Coast Region has approved a budget proposal of 669.5m/- from the Road Fund for road projects to be implemented by the Tanzania Rural Roads Agency (TARURA) in the 2026/2027 financial year.

Presenting the budget this week, TARURAs Acting District Manager, Engineer Nicolaus Ludigery said the projects are expected to significantly improve transportation services in the area.

“The projects include maintenance of roads totalling 183.07 kilometres, construction of seven culverts and building two kilometres of drainage ditches,” he explained.
