SONGEA, Oct. 25 -- THE Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA) in the Ruvuma region has continued to benefit from the governments significant investment in road infrastructure, a move that is driving economic development, agriculture, and environmental conservation.
The TARURA manager in Ruvuma, Engineer Silvester Chinengo, said for the 2025/2026 financial year, the region is implementing development projects with a budget of 22bn/-, a significant increase from the previous 7bn/-.
“Currently, TARURA Ruvuma manages a road network of 7,147 kilometers, of which 133.69 kilometers are asphalt, 1,651.8 kilometers are gravel, and 5,360.6 kilometers are dirt.
