Dar es Salaam, March 31 -- THE Tanzania Roads Association (TARA) is advocating for a legal mandate requiring foreign contractors to partner with local companies through joint ventures on infrastructure projects.

TARA Chairman, Mr Joseph Haule, stated that although the country has a local content policy, a legal framework would provide more emphasis on this matter.

Mr Haule, who is also a National Committee member of the World Road Association, made these remarks over the weekend when addressing the media about the upcoming International Conference on Transport Asset Management 2025, scheduled to take place in Arusha Region from April 9 to 11.
