MTWARA, Dec. 2 -- Cashew farmers under the Mtwara, Masasi, and Nanyumbu Cooperative Union (MAMCU) in Mtwara Region have generated 207bn/- from the sale of 82,000 tonnes of raw cashew nuts during the ongoing 2025/2026 cashew auction season.

The cashews were sold through the Tanzania Mercantile Exchange (TMX) in three auctions held since November 11, 2025, in the districts of Nanyumbu, Masasi, and Mtwara.

MAMCU Marketing Officer Neema Sumavere provided the update during the fourth cashew auction held in the Mtwara District Council.
