DAR ES SALAAM, Feb. 23 -- THE Tanzanian government has announced a move to empower small-scale miners to help them achieve their goals and grow the mining sector,the Minerals Minister, Anthony Mavunde, notified today, February 23, 2026.

He said the initiative includes establishing a strong regulatory framework and continuing to issue licenses in areas that had remained inactive for a long time.

He made the remarks in Dar es Salaam today, February 23, 2026, during the signing ceremony of a Special Program for Small-Scale Gold Miners between CRDB Bank and the Mining Commission.
