Dar es Salaam, March 21 -- DODOMA: THE Tanzanian government plans to integrate human rights education into school and college curricula to reduce human rights violations in the country.

This initiative aims to promote dignity, respect, protection, and the growth of human rights awareness.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Constitution and Legal Affairs, Eliakim Maswi, announced this in Dodoma during a training session for new Tanzania Human Rights Defenders Coalition (THRDC) members.

He said the decision follows a request from THRDC to ensure that human rights education is comprehensively taught in schools and higher learning institutions.
