DODOMA, Jan. 28 -- THE Tanzanian government has announced plans to increase surveyed and designated land for livestock grazing from 3.49 million hectares to 6 million hectares over the next five years.
The announcement was made in Parliament today, January 28, 2026, by the Deputy Minister for Livestock and Fisheries, Ngwasi Kamani, while responding to a question from the Member of Parliament for Ngorongoro, Yannick Ndoinyo, who asked about the governments strategy to expand grazing areas from 3 million to 6 million hectares as stipulated in the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Election Manifesto.
