DAR ES SALAAM, Feb. 6 -- THE Tanzanian government said it has taken concrete measures to utilize Kiswahili as a tool for enhancing economic benefits in international relations while also increasing its use as a diplomatic language at the regional and global forums..

This was revealed today, February 6, 2026, by the  Director of the Department of Global Strategies and Politics at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Mr  Thobias Makoba, during his meeting with the Resident Representative of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Tanzania, Michel Toto, to discuss strategies for strengthening cooperation between the Ministry and the organization.
