MBEYA, Dec. 4 -- TANZANIAN geologists are playing a pivotal role in advancing small-scale mining and boosting exploration of oil and gas resources, the Tanzania Geological Society (TGS) has said.

Prof Elisante Mshiu, TGS President, made the remarks while opening the societys Annual Meeting in Mbeya, which brought together over 4,000 scientists from government ministries, universities, and research institutions.

“This gathering has united institutions from across the country to discuss this critical sector in depth,” Prof Mshiu said.

He highlighted TGSs ongoing collaborations with regional and international partners, including Kenya and Uganda, to tap into professional expertise and modern technology.
