DAR ES SALAAM, Dec. 11 -- TANZANIAS film industry is gaining international recognition, after the Executive Secretary of the Tanzania Film Board, Gervas Kasiga, took part in a high-level academic dialogue with experts from more than 10 countries.

The virtual event was prompted by a research presentation from Suleiman Risasi, a Masters student at the Communication University of China and Assistant Lecturer at the University of Dodoma (UDOM).

His study explored how Tanzania could benefit from Chinas experience in film production, technology and the performing arts.

Participants included scholars and film professionals from Indonesia, Myanmar, Rwanda, Namibia, Gambia and Ethiopia, reflecting the growing global interest in Tanzanian cinema...
