DAR ES SALAAM, Feb. 13 -- THE Tanzanian government has invested a total of 131bn/- for purchasing modern technology to simplify and speed up the production of national identity cards.
Minister for Home Affairs, Patrobas Katambi, announced this during his visit to the National Identification Authority (NIDA) headquarters in Dar es Salaam today, February 13, 2026.
According to the minister, the government aims to upgrade systems and improve efficiency in issuing national IDs to Tanzanian citizens.
