DAR ES SALAAM, Dec. 23 -- THE Tanzanian government said it is moving away from dependence on a natural resource–based economy and now shifts its focus toward production, value addition, and global competitiveness as part of a strategy to achieve a one trillion US dollars economy by 2050.
Minister for Industry and Trade Judith Kapinga revealed this today, December 23, 2025, in Dar es Salaam, saying the new approach aims to add value to local crops and products, promote industrial growth, and increase the contribution of the manufacturing sector to national economic development.
