DODOMA, Feb. 2 -- THE Tanzanian government is seeking a reliable source of funding to upgrade the Ipole–Rungwa road to tarmac standard to improve connectivity between the regions of Mbeya, Tabora, and Singida.
The Deputy Minister for Works, Engineer Godfrey Kasekenya, announced this to parliamentarians in Dodoma on Monday when responding to a question from Sikonge MP, Amos Maganga, who had asked about the governments plans for the construction of the Ipole–Rungwa road.
In his answer, the minister said that the road has already been designed and is among the major routes yet to be upgraded to tarmac standard, prompting the government to actively seek appropriate funding for its construction.
