DODOMA, July 5 -- THE Tanzanian government has significantly reduced the operational costs of the Dar es Salaam Port following a new investment agreement the country signed with DP World on October 22, 2023.

Through this strategic agreement, the government has managed to lower monthly expenditures from an average of 262.153bn/- (between May 2023 and March 2024) to 166.323bn/-per month (from May 2024 to March 2025).

This reflects a substantial reduction of approximately 100bn/- every month.

Since President Samia Suluhu Hassan assumed office in March 2021, there have been major improvements in the efficiency of the Dar es Salaam Port.
