DODOMA, Feb. 24 -- THE Commander-in-Chief of the Tanzania Defence Forces, President Samia Suluhu Hassan, has today, February 24, 2026, officially inaugurated the National Defence Headquarters, built in the Kikombo area of Dodoma.

Construction of the building began during the Fifth Phase Government, with the foundation stone laid on November 25, 2019, by the late President of that term, John Magufuli.

Before the official inauguration, the event featured military honors, including cannon salutes by the Tanzania Peoples Defence Force (TPDF), while combat aircraft flew over the area, highlighting the significance and importance of the occasion.
