DAR ES SALAAM, May 24 -- OVER the past four years, Tanzanias Ministry of Minerals has successfully reinstated both domestic and international gemstone auctions including Tanzanite as part of a broader strategy to promote the countrys mineral resources and enhance their competitiveness in the global market.
Speaking today, May 24, 2025, in Dar es Salaam during a presentation of the four-year achievements under President Samia Suluhu Hassans leadership in the mining sector, Minister of Minerals Anthony Mavunde revealed that legal reforms have already been made to restore the prestige of Tanzanite and reintroduce it aggressively into international markets through dedicated exhibitions and auctions.
