DAR ES SALAAM, Oct. 17 -- THE Tanzanian government has officially announced an increase in the minimum wage for the private sector, with the new rate rising by an average of 33.4 per cent, from 275,060/- to 358,322/- per month.
The announcement was made by the Minister of State in the Prime Ministers Office responsible for Labour, Youth, Employment, and Persons with Disabilities, Ridhiwani Kikwete, during a press briefing held today in Dar es Salaam. He stated that the new wage rates were published in Government Notice No. 605A dated October 13, 2025, and will officially take effect on January 1, 2026.
