KIGOMA, Feb. 21 -- THE Deputy Minister for Transport, David Kihenzile, has confirmed progress on the rehabilitation of the MV Liemba ship in Kigoma Region, saying its works are 55 percent complete.

Kihenzile made the remarks today, February  20, 2026, during an inspection tour of development projects in Kigoma. He expressed satisfaction with the pace of the vessels rehabilitation and emphasized its importance in stimulating economic growth and improving transportation on Lake Tanganyika.
