SINGIDA, Nov. 12 -- PROTECTION of the Mgori Forest Reserve in Singida Region will be strengthened following the announcement by the Commissioner for Conservation at the Tanzania Forest Services Agency (TFS), Professor Dos Santos Silayo, of a plan to increase the number of forest rangers, deploy modern security equipment, and begin construction of a ranger post in Pohama Village.
Professor Silayo made the commitment during a special meeting of the Singida District Security and Defense Committee, held at the office of District Commissioner Godwin Gondwe, aimed at discussing strategies to enhance the protection and conservation of the Mgori Forest.
