DAR ES SALAAM, Aug. 12 -- Tanzania and India have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening cooperation in the peaceful and safe use of nuclear technology.

The agreement was signed by Tanzania Atomic Energy Commission (TAEC) Director General Prof Janat Mohammed and Indias Ambassador to Tanzania, Bishwadip Dey, on the sidelines of the Global Centre for Nuclear Energy Partnership in India.

The agreement was designed to support Tanzanian youth by providing scholarships for studies in nuclear technology, access to hands-on training, and nuclear equipment that will contribute to Tanzanias national development goals.
