DAR ES SALAAM, Nov. 26 -- TO ensure the number of tourists visiting the country increases and reaches eight million within five years, the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) has been urged to take advantage of Tanzania hosting the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to promote the country and boost tourist arrivals.

The directive was issued today, November 26, 2025, by the Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Dr. Ashatu Kijaji, during her working visit to the Tanzania Tourist Board offices in Dar es Salaam.

 She called on the board to strengthen its research efforts and reform its approach to accessing tourism product markets so that more tourists can visit the country and help achieve the set target.
