DODOMA, June 6 -- THE Tanzanian government has announced that it is currently prioritizing the completion of sports infrastructure projects intended to support the hosting of the African Nations Championship (CHAN 2025) and the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2027).

This was said in the Parliament in Dodoma by the Deputy Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Hamis Mwinjuma, while responding to a question from the Member of Parliament for Ilemela Constituency, Dr. Angeline Mabula, who wanted to know when the government plans to commence construction of a Centre of Excellence for sports in Ilemela Municipality, which occupies 16.75 hectares of titled land.
