DODOMA, Feb. 21 -- THE Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Gerald Mweli, has met and held talks with the World Bank Manager for Food and Agriculture, Frauke Jongbluth, at his Mtumba office in Dodoma, where they discussed various agricultural issue,s including boosting farmer access to affordable agricultural loans and training

During their discussions, Mr Mweli highlighted that farmers have long faced barriers to credit due to being classified as part of the informal sector.

He said the ministry is working to improve lending conditions, connect farmers with buyers, and provide access to inputs, extension services, and modern agricultural technologies.
