Dar es Salaam, April 21 -- ZANZIBAR: SIMBA secured a narrow 1-0 victory against South Africas Stellenbosch in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup semi-final at the New Amaan Complex in Zanzibar yesterday.
The solitary goal came courtesy of Jean Charles Ahouas stunning free-kick in the 45th minute which gave the Tanzanian giants a slender advantage heading into the second leg next Sunday at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, South Africa.
Following Simbas yesterday win, President Samia Suluhu Hassan praised the club for their performance, underscoring the joy the win brought to Tanzanians.
She expressed her pride in the team for representing the country on the continental stage.
