SAME, KILIMANJARO, Feb. 20 -- SEVEN suspects have been brought before the Same District Court yesterday, facing various charges related to the trafficking of khat.

One of the suspects has been placed under police supervision for three years.

According to court records, seven cases have been filed, each involving one suspect. All the suspects were read their charges and denied the allegations against them.

In the hearings before Christanta Chitanda, Senior Magistrate, suspects Mr Athuman Kivuma, Mr Goodluck Mungulu, and Ms Nuru Mndeme have been scheduled to return to court on February 24, 2026.

Mr Mungulu is facing a charge of possessing 1.8 kilogrammes of khat. His case is bailable, but he has failed to meet the bail conditions. Mr Ki...
