TABORA, Sept. 13 -- CCM Presidential candidate Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan yesterday reaffirmed her commitment to advancing the Hoima–Tanga crude oil pipeline project (EACOP), if elected in the forthcoming General Election.

Addressing a campaign rally at Nanenane grounds in Tabora Municipality, Dr Samia described the project as a strategic investment that will unlock multiple economic benefits for Tanzania.

The EACOP passes through eight regions in Tanzania, covering about 1,147 kilometres of its total 1,443-kilometre route. These regions are Tabora, Kagera, Geita, Shinyanga, Singida, Dodoma, Manyara and Tanga, where the pipeline terminates at the Indian Ocean port.
