KILIMANJARO, Nov. 22 -- PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has called on parents and community leaders to take a more active role in guiding and mentoring young people, emphasising the importance of providing support and direction to help them navigate challenges and make positive life choices.
She said that many of the youths who took part in the recent General Election unrest were influenced by crowd behaviour rather than personal intent.
Speaking shortly after arriving at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA), Dr Samia said the events showed that large numbers of youths followed the momentum of the group, calling on families to counsel their children and help reinforce calm in their communities.
