Dar es Salaam, Feb. 26 -- PANGANI: PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has handed over 35 modern boats worth 4.477bn/- to fishermen in the Tanga Region as part of the second phase of the boat lending project for fishermen across the country.

The handover that took place today, February 26, 2025, in Pangani, Tanga Region, is part of the continued efforts of the Sixth Phase government to boost the fishing sector and ensure that fishermen have access to quality working tools.

The project, managed by the Government through the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries, aims to assist fishermen in the Coastal Zone, Lake Victoria, Lake Tanganyika, and Lake Nyasa, to increase productivity in the fishing industry and ensure sustainable fishing practices. ...
