GEITA, Nov. 8 -- RUBONDO Island National Park is one of two Tanzanian national parks located on an island in Lake Victoria, the other being Saanane Island National Park.

The island is administered by jurisdiction by the Geita district of Geita region, and as a National Park, the island management is under the Tanzania National Park (TANAPA). The island attracts a small number of visitors each year, mainly game fishermen and bird enthusiasts.

It is the largest island national park in Africa. Rubondo lies in the Southern part of Lake Victoria – the worlds second largest lake.
