IRINGA, Aug. 2 -- THE government has allocated 15bn/- to support the Mwenga Hydro Ltd power generation project located in Mufindi District, Iringa Region.
The funding was announced on Thursday during an inspection visit by the Rural Energy Board (REB) to the Mwenga Hydro Ltd project which harnesses the small hydro power potential of river waterfalls and wind energy to generate electricity.
A board member, Mr James Mabula, reaffirmed the governments commitment to rural electrification saying all projects will be executed as planned.
