DODOMA, Feb. 17 -- THE Deputy Minister of Energy, Salome Makamba, has today, February 17, 2026, launched a clean cooking energy project at Kondoa Girls Secondary School in Dodoma region.
The project is being implemented by the Rural Energy Agency (REA) to ensure that institutions serving more than 100 people use safe and clean cooking energy.
The first phase of the project involves installing clean cooking energy systems in 52 secondary schools and one technical college across 18 regions.

The initiative is expected to benefit 54,405 students, 2,192 teachers, and other staff at the institutions.
