ARUSHA, Jan. 28 -- ARUSHA Regional Commissioner Amos Makalla has commended President Samia Suluhu Hassan for fulfilling her pledge to initiate the implementation process of universal health insurance within the first 100 days of her second term in office.

Makalla made the remarks during a visit by the Minister for Health to the Arusha Lutheran Medical Center (ALMC) in Selian, noting that the move is a fulfillment of a promise made by President Samia during the October 2025 General Election campaigns.

He said the successful initiation of the universal health insurance process is a result of President Samias strong commitment, compassion, and courage in ensuring that citizens access quality healthcare services without barriers.
