KILIMANJARO, July 28 -- KILIMANJARO Regional Commissioner, Mr Nurdin Babu, stated that the partnership between Geita Gold Mining Limited (GGML) and the Tanzania Commission for AIDS (TACAIDS) is injecting renewed energy into the governments commitment to eliminate HIV/AIDS and achieve the Three Zeros, zero new infections, zero stigma and zero AIDS-related deaths by 2030.
This years Kili Challenge campaign, sponsored by GGML, aims to raise over 2bn/- to support the governments initiative. At a ceremony in Moshi, Mr Babu honoured 49 climbers and 17 cyclists from the 23rd Mount Kilimanjaro climb.
He praised their leadership and unity, noting that such efforts remind everyone that fighting HIV is a shared responsibility.
