Dar es Salaam, March 13 -- DODOMA: The Dodoma City Council has endorsed a proposal to divide Dodoma Urban Constituency into two electoral constituencies: Dodoma and Mtumba.

The constituency, currently home to 795,000 registered voters, will be split into Dodoma Constituency, covering 21 wards with 412,000 residents, and Mtumba Constituency, comprising 20 wards with 383,000 residents.

 Dodoma Urban MP Anthony Mavunde commended the council for endorsing the plan, noting that Dodoma Urban is among the countrys largest constituencies, with four divisions, 41 wards, and 222 streets.
